The redknee I have was bought from a friend who admitedly didn't have interest nor space to house the poor girl anymore so I bought her and have enjoyed her company for maybe one and a half month now.

So she started showing pre molting behaviour some time ago. Didn't eat, got sluggish and eventually blue on her blad patch.

So I've taken extra measure of having a bit higher humidity (around 80% during this time) and yesterday it finally happened she molted for the first time since she got here and it all seemed well. And I even found an oppertunity to remove the old skeleton without it touching or seemingly annoy her.

But now she is lying very strange and has done so for a long time; it's not the death clench but she is more lying with her abodomen right on the ground with her right side of the legs straight out and the left part kind of pressed against the inner jar wall.

I checked on her before going to bed yesterday and thinking it was post molting behaviour but now when I woke up about 6-7 hours later and it seems she is still in the same position and I fear for the worst.

Is there anyway I can check on her without causing stress should she be alive?
Is this the "creepy" post molting stretching behaviour I've read about?

I am abit freaked out and any advice or tips on what to do would be greatly appreciated.

It does sound like she is in a post moult position but they don't normally stay like that for such a long time although it certainly isn't unheard of. If you are really worried about it then give her a gentle nudge and see if she moves. If she does then just leave her to it as she is still soft and if she doesn't move then you may have a problem.

Ok so a bit of an update: She has switched position since this post and kept lying in the weirdest positions with legs everywhere but now she has regained posture so I suppose it was like I suspected: leg stretching after the molt.

I guess the real check will be when feeding her in a few days. :-)

Thanks for the reply though, most appreciated.

Glad she's ok!  If she's moving and doing good, she's out of the hard part and life will be good for her.
