EMAIL SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
INCOMING MAIL: pop.coxmail.com
OUTGOING MAIL: smtp.coxmail.com (requires authentication)
Your pop username is your new email address (username@arachnofreaks.com)
You will be assigned a default password for your account.
You are advised to go to www.arachnofreaks.com/mail to create a new password.
Go to the VIP login and put in your username and default password and click on the manage account button, in here you can change your password.
You may also access your mail via web mail by clicking on the VIP Mail Login button on the previous page. I recommend using a pop mail client though so you can store your saved message locally and just use the web access for if you are away from your main PC.
Outlook Express:
1. Open outlook express, it this is first time using it a wizard will come up. If you already have an email configured in outlook then click tools on the head bat and then click Accounts. Now click the add button on the top right and choose mail to begin the wizard.
2. Enter your name as you want it seen when people receive emails from you and click NEXT.
3. Now enter your new email address (i.e.. username@arachnofreaks.com) and click NEXT.
4. The top line should read: My incoming mail server is a POP3 server. For the incoming mail server type in: pop.coxmail.com and for the outgoing mail server type in: smtp.coxmail.com and click next. The a
5. Now type in your account name which is your email address: (username@arachnofreaks.com) and password which was sent to you when you signed up or the new password you created. The box that says: Log on using SPA should not be checked and click next then click finish. But your not quite finished.
6. The accounts box should still be open. Highlight the new mail account you just created and click Properties button on the right. Click the servers tab at the top. Now at the bottom of that window check off the box under Outgoing mail server that says " My server requires authentication". Now you can click ok and the window will close. Close the accounts window.
7. Click send and receive on the top bar and your email should be working.
Microsoft Outlook 2003:
1. Open outlook, if it this is first time using it a wizard will come up. If you already have outlook setup then click the tools menu at the top and choose Email Accounts to start the wizard. Choose add a new email account and click next.
2. Choose POP3 and click next.
3. Enter your name ( as you want it viewed on emails) and email address. Enter your user name which is your email address (i.e. username@arachnofreaks.com) and your password. For incoming mail server enter: pop.coxmail.com and for outgoing enter: smtp.coxmail.com. Now click the More Settings... button on the lower right side. Click the Outgoing Server tab on this new window. Check off the box that says: My outgoing mail server (SMTP) requires authentication and then leave the default box checked that says: Use same settings as my incoming mail server. Now click OK to close that window and Next and then Finish to complete the wizard.
4. Click send and receive button on top bar and your mail should be working.
Mozilla Thunderbird:
1. Open Thunderbird, if it this is first time using it a wizard will come up otherwise click the tools menu on the top and choose account settings. Then click Add account button on the lower left.
2. Choose email account then click next.
3. Type in your name as you want it viewed and your new email address: username@arachnofreaks.com, then click next.
4. Choose "pop" and enter pop.coxmail.com as the incoming mail server name and smtp.coxmail.com as the outgoing mail server and click next.
5. Enter your username for incoming and outgoing mail both as your email address ( username@arachnofreaks.com ) and click next.
6 Now it will ask you to name the account. Type in "Arachnofreaks Email". and click next and then finish.
Mac OS X Mail:
